crash. the car slammed into a parked vehicle and a hydrant and snapped the car in half and knocked electrical wires on a bus. no one on the bus was hurt. the crash knocked out power to pg&e customs but is fully restored. >> san lenadro police are asking for help in identifying a man involved in an attack at a safe way store. look at this video, he changed words with the store manager and suddenly throws a punch. the blow knocks the manager to the floor, seriously injuring him. the hand ran out of the store after the attack. it happened monday morning before 11:00 at the safeway on brand croft avenue. police say they are confident they will find the attacker. >> family of friends are trying to make sense of an accident that left a livermore bicyclist on life support. the 21-year-old is a nursing student at chico state.

she is brain dead and will be kept alive until they can donate her organs. she was riding her bicycle back from the school library and a car hit her. the 19-year-old driver was drunk and sped away from the scene. officers tracked him down and arrested him on d.u.i. and hit-and-run charges. he will be charged with vehicular manslaughter. >> the governor brown is expected to sign the measure raising the state's minimum wage. he is scheduled to sign the bill at noon in oakland at the cypress mandela training center. nearly two weeks ago lawmakers closed out the final session of the year by reagans the minimum wage for the first time in five years. the measure raises the minimum wage to $9 next july and then to $10 in january of 2016. the state's minimum wage now is $will -- $8 an hour. >> the democratic senate is defeating attempts to de-fund the president's health care law.

determine the cause of a fire that ripped through a hand and damaged two others in the east bay. it started yesterday afternoon at a house in piedmont. the wind spread the flames to neighboring homes. the firefighters tackled the flames from the roof of the home. crews from oakland joined piedmont fire. the chief says this was the first fire in the area since the devastating oakland hills tire in 1991. >> firefighters making progress against two wildfires burning in southern california. this fire forced evacuation of 30 homes and break out along interstate 15 in san bernardino county yesterday. a massive airliner dropped tons of retarrant to slow the flames. crews in los angeles county report a fire burning is now 70 percent contained that burned 250 acres since it started on monday. >> meteorologist mike nicco was talking about the increased fire danger because of the fast

40 miles per hour along the coast -- here's the gusts. our fastest wins are during the later part of the evening hours at 30 miles per hour to 40 miles per hour through 8:00 and they will relax, then, overnight and in the hills, the winds are developing here and that is the offshore wind that will develop tonight and where the fire danger is going up. as we look at downtown san francisco, breezy and coolest this afternoon, and fire danger develops tonight and we have calmer and warmer weather this weekend. check out the temperatures, not much of a microclimate, mid-60's along the coast and in san francisco and upper 60's to low 70's from the bayshore to the south bay and low-to-mid 70's in the north bay and east bay. tonight, the temperatures are more widespread 40's at the coast and the north bay and a lot of low-to-mid 50's for the rest of us. while you were sleeping the cold front continues sliding to the south and that secondary public of cool air is coming in and that is why today is the cool of

northbound direction. so far, it is quiet. kristen and eric. >> several consumer groups plan to sue the federal government today to force ought toy makers to install rear view video cameras in vehicles. the department of transportation says it will add the backup cameras to the lit of recommended features for automakers but several consumer and safety groups call that move a stall tactic and they point out that congress imposes a deadline in 2008 to have the guidelines in place by 2011. the lawsuit demands officials make the cameras mandatory in 90 days. >> there are many uses for aluminum foil but you have probably never heard of this: credit card fraud. kansas city police say thieves wrapped foil around satellite dishes as several gas stations and it blocked signals from connects to processing centers so these -- thieves could use the stolen cars. a gas station owner noticed large transactions and discovered his satellite transmitter was tampered with. police arrested three people
